Rifle. Single-Shot. Falling Block Action. Manufactured 1918. Produced 1885-1918. "Low Wall' (Exposed hammer, less powerful cartridges) U.S. Army issued for marksmanship training known as the Winder Musket. 27 1/4"barrel with Lyman Globe/post front and receiver mounted adjustable, peep sights. Drilled/tapped for scope mount. Straight walnut stock/fore stock. Blued finish. Steel buttplate. 2-line Winchester address/patent on left barrel. Proofs, and "22 Long R" . Winchester trademark on tang along with "U.S." and flaming Ordnance bomb. Serial # on lower tang. Brown nylon sling attached. Action is smooth/tight. Bore appears very good, strong rifling, but a little dirty. Blued finish is about 70% with handling loss/scratches, and edge wear. The receiver has a minor dent, and some minor spots of surface rust on the left side. Wood is very good with minor scratches/dings. NRA condition-Near Very Good. C&R Firearm.
