'First year production' Antique lever action repeating rifle chambered in .44-40 Winchester, circa 1892. Features a blued finish, 24 5/16" octagonal barrel, full-length tube magazine, dovetailed Lyman blade front sight, semi-buckhorn adjustable rear sight, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, case hardened lever, smooth walnut forearm with metal end cap and straight grip shoulder stock with crescent metal buttplate. Includes a factory letter confirming it's configuration as original and stating it was received in the warehouse Dec. 30th 1892 and shipped on Aug. 19th 1893 as part of order 22924. Rifle retains approximately 40% of it's original finish with the barrel mostly turned to patina, thinned finish on the magazine tube and some bright bluing intact on the receiver with the balance made up of patina in the pattern of carrying wear. Marking are sharp, action is smooth, bore is very good with some minor pin prick pitting and the wood stocks are very good with moderate blemishes. Condition is NRA fine. ***Antique Firearm***
