Very interesting, magazine fed semi-automatic sporting rifle chambered in .401 Winchester Self-Loading, manufactured circa 1920. Features a 20" round barrel, dovetailed Marble blade front sight , rare express 4 leaf rear sight, charging handle in forearm, 4 round detachable magazine, take-down receiver, smooth trigger, push button safety, operating sleeve/bolt hold open, smooth walnut beavertail forend and pistol grip shoulder stock with checkered black metal buttplate. Serial numbers match on both parts of the receiver. Barrel marked "P. Orr & Sons, Rangoon". They were British merchants in Burma. The British ruled Burma from 1824 until 1948. present day Myanmar. Rifle has seen hard use, Burma back then was mostly jungles and coastal rain forests. Finish has turned a molted grey/blue with spots of brown patina with scattered light pitting, bore is dark/rough with rust, shoulder stock is good, forearm has 3 cracks in it, factory hard rubber buttplate has a chip out of the bottom.
