Winchester 2nd Model Winder 1885 High-Wall Single-Shot Fullstock Musket, #115369, .22 Short RF cal., blued 28'' barrel, with block-blade front and military windgauge rear sights, marked with maker's name, address and 1878-87 patent dates on left side, and ''22 Short'' at breech; blued ''Thinside'' receiver with serpentine operating lever that opens the dropping-block actio, is marked with the Winchester name, patent and trademark in three lines on upper tang, and ''115369'' on lower; oil-stained walnut finger-groove forestock with blued steel barrel band having a sling swivel, blued nosecap, and matching buttstock with blued carbine style buttplate and sling swivel underneath. Mfg'd ca. 1918-20. Condition is excellent. Barrel retains approx. 95% deep glossy blue, receiver with perhaps 15% blue, the balance of the blued metal with 50% to 90% blue. Stocks are sound and smooth having only minor use/handling marks and lovely grain and color. Action is smooth; bore is brilliant with crisp rifling. Est.: $900-$1,400. (C&R)
