American made single-shot break-action shotgun chambered for 2-3/4" 20 Gauge shotshells. The Model 37 Single-Shot was manufactured between 1936 and 1963, with 1,015,000 shotguns produced. The Model 37's were manufactured without date stamps, or serial numbers. Shotgun features a blued finish, a 28" round barrel, the fixed choke measures 'Improved Modified' with a drop-in gauge, silver bead front sight, smooth curved trigger, shell ejector, external hammer with a serrated spur, checkered top lever, and a stamped metal trigger guard. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, 14" length-of-pull, and a checkered black plastic Winchester butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 95% with light scratches, minor edge wear, carry wear on the bottom of the receiver, and the metal taking on a brown patina. Metal displays a slightly dented trigger guard, and minor deformation in a trigger guard screw slot. Light oxidative speckling was also observed on this shotgun. Furniture wood is in very good condition considering its age with a few minor dings and blemishes. The barrel falls quickly under its own weight with a tight locks-up, and the top lever rests to the right of the tangs centerline. The bore is bright and shiny, but it is a little dirty.
Condition is NRA Good.
