Features 28" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, blade front sight, folding elevator rear sight, straight wrist, finger lever latch, sliding dust cover, steel crescent buttplate with sliding cover for butt trap. Bore is fair condition, bright with strong rifling, showing light roughness and scattered tiny pits throughout. Barrel shows mottled brown and gray color, with dents to edges of flats. Magazine tube retains some blued finish on right side near forend, fading to a brownish gray towards muzzle, with smooth texture. Receiver is case hardened, now mostly a dark gray color, with yellowish silver colored metal on top tang, around edges of receiver where sideplates sit. Sideplates are mostly a smooth dark gray, thinning or fading to a lighter color in small areas. Screw slots are generally good. Buttplate is good condition, blued, with bare metal on corners and some patina forming. Wood is good condition, solid with visible grain, many small dents and scratches throughout. Wood to metal fit is good. Action is smooth. Dust cover does not retract with bolt, and prevents bolt from moving forward unless manually retracted. Model marking on top tang is crisp, deep & even. Two line barrel address and serial number on bottom tang are sharp. "45-60" lifter marking is clear and even depth across letters. Condition is NRA Very Good *** Antique Firearm ***
