SN: GS50157 Commemorative lever action repeating rifle celebrating the completion of a rail line spanning the North American continent on May 10th,1869 at Promontory Summit Utah. Manufactured circa 1969 with just under 70,000 reported to have been produced. Features a blued (barrel, magazine tube, bolt, lever, trigger, hammer) & gold washed (receiver, bands, buttplate) finish, light coverage roll stamp engraving on the receiver, 20" tapered barrel, full-length tube magazine, ramped & hooded blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear sporting sight, smooth trigger with beveled edges, serrated hammer spur, grip safety, saddle ring, two barrel bands, smooth fancy figured walnut forend and straight grip shoulder stock with inlayed coin (depicting two trains meeting as the line was finally completed) on the right side & knurled metal buttplate. Right side of receiver engraved with border scroll, left side with "1869 (image of railroad spike) 1969". Upper tang bears the inscription 'Oceans United by Rail'. Rifle retains approximately 95% of its original finish showing scattered handling marks/scratches. Action is smooth, the bore is pristine and the wood stocks are fine with minor blemishes.
