SN: WC79284 Limited edition commemorative lever action repeating rifle celebrating American Old West figure W. F. Cody aka ‘Buffalo Bill’. Chambered in .30-30 Winchester and manufactured circa 1968 with only 112,923 (counting both rifle and carbine variants) reported to have been produced. Buffalo Bill served in the Union Army during the American Civil War, served as a scout for the U.S. Army during the Indian Wars, was an exceptional bison hunter and was one of the most famous showmen of the 19th century. Configuration: blued & lustrous black finish with nickel plated accents, 26" octagonal barrel, full-length magazine tube, dovetailed blade front sight with bead top, elevation adjustable rear sporting sight, simple roll stamped engraving on the receiver, saddle ring, smooth trigger with beveled edges, serrated hammer spur, grip safety, smooth walnut forend with metal cap and straight grip shoulder stock with inlayed Buffalo Bill Commemorative coin on the right side & smooth metal buttplate. Rifle retains approximately 98% original finish showing handling marks. Action is smooth, the bore is pristine and the wood stocks are fine with only minor blemishes.
