Vintage American made pump-action shotgun chambered for 2-3/4" 12 Gauge shells, and manufactured circa 1917. This is a Model 12 shotgun that was upgraded to being 'Pigeon' grade. Shotgun features a blued refinish, an approximately 28" solid rib nickel steel barrel, barrel marked 'Modified' choke, Bradely front sight with white bead, smooth curved trigger, hammerless, about 1/2 length magazine tube, front trigger guard mounted checkered push-button safety, single action bar, jeweled bolt and shell follower, engine turned breech block and shell follower, and left side receiver mounted push-button slide release. The finely figured hardwood furniture consists of a semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock with fancy checkering at the wrist, fancy engraved slide handle, smooth black steel grip cap, 14-1/4" length-of-pull, and a black solid rubber winchester recoil pad. The shotgun depicts limited coverage of floral engravings and hunting scenes of game birds and pointers. The blued finish retained is approximately 98% with superficial handling marks. Metal displays no rust, or metal deformation. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is shiny and bright. The furniture wood is in excellent condition with very minor handling blemishes and light scratches. The engraving on this shotgun is signed by "JS 74,' and the engraver used Nick Kusmit's Pattern #5 (1950-1981).
Condition is NRA Excellent as Modified/Refinished.
