'Third Model' manufactured circa 1890. Features 24" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, buckhorn sights, straight wrist, finger lever latch, sliding dust cover, steel crescent buttplate. Bore is poor to fair condition, pitted and eroded throughout, with visible rifling. Metal surfaces show mottled brown and gray colors, thinning on edges and where handled or where action parts rub. Buttplate appears newer replacement with dark even blued finish, fair fit to wood. Screw slots are generally good with slight marring, dings and tiny dens around many of the screw heads. Wood is fair to good condition, with many small gouges, dents and scratches throughout. Forend has wood loss on both sides towards front. Butt has good fit to tang, shows some loss at toe. Action is smooth. Dust cover has moderate side-to-side play. Model marking on top tang, two line barrel address and serial number on bottom tang are all crisp. "32 Cal" lifter marking is clear and readable. Condition is NRA Good + *** Antique Firearm ***
