'Extra Lightweight Take-Down Rifle' manufactured circa 1906. Features 24" round barrel (marked 'nickel steel'), half length magazine tube with takedown lever at cap, buckhorn sights (front sight marked "MARBLE / No 2"), straight wrist, shotgun butt with gutta percha buttplate. Bore is good to very good condition, lightly frosted with sharp rifling. Barrel & magazine tube retain 60% blue, with bare metal at muzzle, scuff marks, rub marks from takedown lever on bottom of barrel. Receiver is mostly bare metal, with many small scratches and dings, some dark gray color retained in protected areas such as below receiver scallops. Screw slots are generally good. Forend is fair serviceable condition, with rough surface from many small scratches & dings, good fit to metal. Stock is good condition, with dents & scratches, good fit to metal with slight shrinkage at tangs, good fir to buttplate. Buttplate is good condition. Markings are mostly crisp with sharp edges, two like barrel address and nickel steel marks appear shallow for some letters. Seven distinct notches carved into toe of stock near buttplate.
