Antique large frame lever action repeating rifle manufactured circa 1891. Features a 26" octagon barrel, 2/3 length magazine tube, dovetailed blade front sight, adjustable rear sporting sight, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, smooth walnut forend with metal cap and straight grip shoulder stock with crescent metal buttplate. Mag tube appears shortened, nicely done, with bottom barrel flat showing shallow & narrow rounded trough along the exposed length, as well as a crosswise relief cut near muzzle for the previous end cap location. Markings are sharp, readable. Bore is fair or better condition, frosted throughout, showing good rifling. Retains 50% blued finish on barrel & mag tube, with edge losses, cleaned areas. Bolt & mag loading door retain good blue with signs of cleaning losses. Receiver & lever show fading case color, now mostly a mottled silver color, some darker color around screw heads and in forward scallops. Wood is generally good condition, good figure in butt, oil stained near receiver tang, good fit to metal with little shrinkage. Condition is NRA Good++ (modified magazine) *** Antique Firearm ***
