Takedown 'Sporting Rifle' manufactured circa 1906. Refinished. Features 24" octagon barrel, full length magazine tube, takedown lever at magazine cap, blade front sight, rear sight barrel dovetail filled with Redfield blank, Redfield adjustable peep sight mounted to receiver, straight grip, steel crescent buttplate, eyelet type sling studs. Bore is good condition, frosted with sharp rifling. Retains 80% blued finish, thinning or showing bare metal on receiver bottom, forward part of magazine tube, at tangs. Barrel shows some nicks and scuff marks. Front sight dovetail is a bit high, with slight gap visible from side. Receiver shows good finish coverage on sides, some scratches, with different surface finish on front halves revealing partial polishing before reblue. Finger lever and buttplate are very good condition with bright case color. Forend is good condition with good fit to metal. Butt is good condition with creases and dents, fair fit to buttplate, slight shrinkage at tang. Markings are mostly deep and clear, with two line barrel address showing a slightly more shallow top line. Action operates smoothly.
