Winchester Model 1894 .30-30 SN: 30594
Rifle. Lever Action. Manufactured 1895. 20" round barrel. Full magazine. 2 line Winchester Manufacture markings. 30 W.C.F. marked. Front sight marked Marbles No.5. Behind the rear sight (Small & Feint) is "Browning Bros Co. Ogden Ut." Browning accepted guns from Winchester for retail sale at the Ogden mercantile store in lieu of cash payments for patents and other services provided by Winchester. The practice ceased in 1901 when John severed his ties with Winchester. Walnut stock, and forearm, with steel cap, and steel crescent butt plate. Winchester markings on tang. Blued finish is about 20%, mostly turning a Plum/gray color. Action is crisp/tight. Bore is very good, with strong rifling Wood has numerous small dings and scratches. There's a couple of minor chips by the upper tang. Also there is a repair to the stock where a 2" chip came off by the lower butt plate. Doesn't look bad. I believe the Browning marked barrels are somewhat rare, making this rifle desirable to 94 collectors. NRA Condition-Near Very Good. Antique Firearm
