Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine, #861103, .30 W.C.F. (.30-30) cal., 20" round barrel marked with maker's name, address and 1894 patent date, "Nickel Steel Barrel/Especially for Smokeless Powder" and caliber at left, has block-blade front and sliding-leaf rear sights, full-length mag tube below; receiver is marked with the model, maker's name, and trade mark pat. off. at top tang, has loop operating lever and left-side saddle ring and stud; oil-stained forend has single band, matching buttstock with carbine buttplate.  Consignor has included two letters from the State of Nebraska, dated 1981 & 1983, stating that this Carbine was used by the Nebraska Home Guard, Nebraska Sheriff's Dept., and the Nebraska State Patrol between the years 1918 and 1981.  Condition is fine retaining approx. 95% barrel, mag tube and lever blue, 50% on receiver, 25% buttplate; edges and markings are sharp. Stocks are sound and smooth with shallow nicks and dings, have nice color and original oil finish. Action is crisp, bore is brilliant with sharp rifling.  Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (C&R)
