.30-30 SN: 441082 Documented & desirable short barreled lever action repeating rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester, manufactured in New Haven, CT circa 1908. Includes an ATF letter addressed to George Madis expressing this rifles classification as a C&R firearm. Features a blued finish, 15" tapered barrel, full-length tube magazine, pinned blade front sight, factory 44A flip-up ladder rear sight, two barrel bands, saddle ring, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, grip safety, smooth gumwood forend, and straight grip gumwood shoulder stock with smooth metal carbine buttplate & installed sling eyelet. Also includes a copy of a Cody Firearms Museum/Winchester serial number application letter stating its date of manufacture as September 24, 1909. Carbine retains less than 10% original finish with some bright bluing retained in the protected areas of the receiver. The magazine tube has turned to an aged brown patina and the barrel a mottled grey with striations on the sides above the forend, touched up with cold blue. Action is crisp, the bore is frosty, markings are very good and the refinished stocks are good with many dings & what could be a 1.5” hairline crack on the tip of the forend.
