The rear sight is an adjustable elevation u-notch dovetailed into the barrel. A marbles aperture sight is mounted to the tang. grip/stock configuration & condition: the refinished furniture is two piece wood with a straight comb, checkered semi-pistol grip, checkered forend, and a smooth metal buttplate. The buttplate has cold blue applied and shows some edge wear. The furniture shows scattered pressure dings, a few gouges, and other blemishes. Many of the blemishes have been sanded and finished over. The lop measures 13. 25" from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. There is a repaired chip in the heel of the stock. There are no cracks. The furniture rates in good condition. type of finish: bluedfinish originality: nonoriginal, spots have been gone over with cold bluebore condition: the bore is mostly bright and the rifling is sharp. There is light erosion in the bore. In this writer's opinion, the bore rates 8/10. overall condition: this rifle retains about 70% of its nonoriginal metal finish. The finish shows edge wear, a few light scratches, and faint pitting on the receiver. The screw heads show light tooling and retain turnable slots. The markings are clear and complete. Overall, this rifle rates in very good condition. mechanics: the action functions correctly. We did not fire this firearm.
