Vintage American made bolt-action centerfire rifle chambered for .218 Bee, and manufactured circa 1950 in New Haven, CT. The Model 43 was in production from 1949 to 1957. Rifle features a blued finish, receiver drilled and tapped for optic mounting with two-piece rail sections, an approximately 24" tapered barrel, no provision for a front sight, dovetailed rear sight blank, smooth curved trigger, turned down bolt handle, in-the-white bolt body, right receiver mounted serrated manual safety, and accepts detachable box magazine. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend with a sling stud, sling stud in the bottom of the shoulder stock, and a checkered steel butt plate. A Bushnell Scope Chief 3-9x40mm scope with fine crosshairs is mounted to the receiver using two-piece 1" Weaver rings. The original blued finish retained is approximately 95% with light handling marks, some thinning, and minor edge wear. The receiver is taking on a plum finish, the bolt handle is copper colored, and the trigger guard has almost no finish remaining. Metal displays no rust, but there is very slight deformation in some of the screw slots. Furniture wood is in very good condition with minor handling blemishes. The action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The scopes sight picture is clear and bright. Rifle includes one magazine total.
Condition is NRA Very Good.
