Winchester Model 65 Lever Action Rifle, .32 WCF cal., #1006860, 22" round barrel, steel bead factory dovetailed blade front and semi-buckhorn rear sights, blue finish, smooth walnut two-piece pistol grip stock, button magazine. Mfg'd 1941. Rifle is in very good overall condition. Barrel and button magazine retain approx. 80%-85% thinning factory blue with scratches and wear at the muzzle consistent with field use. Receiver retains 40%-50% thinning finish going to gray patina with considerable blue on both top and bottom tangs, the bolt and loading gate. There are Winchester "WP" proofs on the barrel and front ring. Stock is very good with small mars and handling marks. Wood-to-metal fit is very good. Buttstock ends with a widow's peak checkered steel buttplate providing a 13" LOP. Action is crisp, bore is good with sharp rifling. The Model 65 was a design evolution of the Model 53 with a total production of only 5,700 rifles produced. Est.: $1,000-$1,200. (C&R)
