'Eastern Carbine', a vintage American made lever action repeating rifle chambered for .30-30 Winchester, and manufactured circa 1950 in New Haven, CT. 'Eastern Carbine' refers to a rifle without a saddle ring, and were at one time, produced for the eastern portion of the country. Carbine features a blued finish, an approximately 20" round barrel, full-length tube magazine, hooded ramped blade front sight with a steel bead, elevation adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight, smooth curved trigger, external hammer with a serrated spur, steel receiver, lower tang mounted lever safety, and top ejection. The walnut furniture consists of a smooth straight gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend with barrel band, and a checkered steel butt plate. The original blued finish retained is approximately 92% with some general thinning on the receiver and lever, edge wear, minor blemishes, and the receiver has scattered patches of a brown patina. Metal displays a very light amount of rust on the lever, minor deformation in the top tang screw slot, and a small deep scratch on the bottom of the magazine tube. Furniture wood is in good condition with normal handling marks. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. Markings are sharp and legible.
Condition is NRA Good.
