American made lever-action centerfire rifle chambered for .356 Winchester, and manufactured New Haven, CT. The Winchester Model 94AE (Angle Eject) XTR was introduced around 1982, and discontinued in 1988 when the 'XTR' normenclature was removed. The 'XTR' designation refers to 'Extra Finish', or premium finish and furniture. The .356 Win. was designed around the .307 Win cartridge, and intended for new big bore lever-action rifles like the Model 94AE XTR. Rifle features a blued finish, receiver drilled and tapped for optic mounting, a 20" round barrel, dovetailed blade front sight with a silver colered bead, dovetailed elevation adjustable flip-up 'U' notched rear sight with a white triangle aiming guide, full length tube magazine, angle eject for scope clearance, smooth curved trigger, grip safety, external hammer with a serrated spur, one optic rail section installed on the receiver, and a barrel band behind the front sight. The American Walnut furniture consists of a smooth straight gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend with a barrel band, sling attachment point on a magazine tube band, and a black checkered factory plastic buttplate. The screw is missing from the rear barrel band. The original blued finish retained is approximately 98% with edge wear, and superficial blemishes. Metal displays no rust, or deformation. Action is smooth and crisp, and the bore is bright with strong rifling. The walnut furniture is in excellent condition with extremely minor handling marks, and a factory 'Genuine American Walnut' sticker is on the bottom of the shoulder stock. Rifle would be considered excellent if it were not missing the barrel band screw.
Condition is NRA Near Excellent.
