'No 3 Mk 1w' British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured in the United States circa 1914-1916. Imported by Springfield Sporters of Penn Run, P.A. with import marks on the underside of the barrel. Features a blued finish, 26" barrel, shrouded patridge front sight, receiver mounted flip-up ladder style aperture sight graduated to 1,600 yards(removed fixed 100 yard aperture sight), volley sights, metal forend cap/barrel band with bayonet lug & piling swivel, serrated trigger, internal 6 round box magazine, manual safety on the right side of the receiver, bent bolt handle, charge loading guide cuts in the receiver, tan canvas sling smooth wood handguard, finger grooved forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass disc & metal trapdoor buttplate. The stock is marked "I/IW(inside a circle)/PATT 14" and the receiver is marked "NOTENGLISHMAKE" & shows a military proofs. Serial numbers match on the receiver and bolt handle. Rifle exhibits the majority of it's dull blued finish showing some old pitting under the finish on the rear sight protectors. Action is smooth, the bore is dull with scattered light pitting and the wood stocks are good with many blemishes.
