Champagne is more than a destination — it is a legend. Just 90 minutes from Paris, this storied region unfurls in a patchwork of vine-covered hills, medieval villages, and grand maisons whose names are synonymous with celebration. Beneath the rolling landscape lie miles of chalk cellars, where the world’s most coveted bottles rest in quiet perfection. Here, artistry and terroir converge to create something truly timeless: the sparkling wine that kings, queens, and dreamers have raised in toasts for centuries. To walk through Champagne is to step into a living story — one of tradition, elegance, and the eternal allure of bubbles that turn life’s moments into milestones.
A Day in Champagne
Awaken your senses in the birthplace of the world’s most celebrated bubbles. Your day begins among the vine-draped hills of Champagne, where a boutique grower welcomes you into their cellar for an intimate look at the centuries-old craft of turning grapes into liquid gold. Here, tradition feels alive in every barrel and bottle.
From there, step into the legendary underground world of Moët & Chandon. Stretching for miles beneath Épernay, these chalk cellars cradle some of the finest vintages on earth. As you wander through cool, dimly lit tunnels lined with endless stacks of bottles, you’ll feel part of a story that has enchanted kings, queens, and connoisseurs for generations.
Midday, pause to savor a gourmet French lunch, where each course is paired perfectly with the rhythm of the region. Later, stroll through the storybook village of Hautvillers, birthplace of Champagne, where cobblestone streets lead you to the Abbey of Dom Pérignon. Here, in the quiet cloisters, you’ll walk in the footsteps of the monk whose spark of genius gave the world its most timeless celebration.
Dinner at Michelin-Starred Le Foch
As the day draws to a close, the indulgence continues with a dining experience that’s nothing short of extraordinary. At Le Foch, a Michelin-starred jewel in Reims, each plate arrives like a masterpiece. From seabass baked in Vallauris pottery to inventive seasonal creations, the artistry is matched only by the service. With a four-course menu designed to delight every sense, this dinner lingers in memory as vividly as the bubbles that define the region.
(Please note: wine and alcohol are not included with dinner.)
Château d’Étoges: Your Historic Retreat
Your home is the enchanting Château d’Étoges, a 17th-century castle nestled among vineyards and manicured gardens. Wake to breakfast in the grand dining hall, wander the tranquil grounds, and bask in the romance of château living. With its timeless elegance and ideal location near Épernay, this historic retreat is the perfect base for your Champagne journey — where every sunrise begins with beauty, and every evening feels like a celebration.
