For parts or repair. A WW2 German military issue K98k that has been re-worked at Preduzece44 (Institute44) Kragujevac in post WW2 communist Yugoslavia. Produced from early 1946 until the 1950's. Rifle is chambered for 8mm Mauser, and imported by Century Arms International out of Georgia, VT. The Yugoslavian crest has been ground off suggesting that it was sold to another country, these countries were mostly Middle-Eastern. Rifle features a blued finish, stripper clip guide cut into receiver, an approximately 24" barrel, inverted 'V' front sight, elevation adjustable rear sight graduated to 2000 meters, cleaning rod under barrel, smooth curved trigger, milled trigger guard, no bolt, bolt release mounted on the left receiver rail (removed), 'H' style barrel band, magazine floorplate removed, and bayonet lug. The hardwood furniture consists of a smooth semi-pistol gripped shoulder stock, smooth forend, smooth handguard, sling slot cut into shoulder stock, sling loop on rear barrel band, bolt disassembly disc in shoulder stock, and a cupped steel butt plate. Serial number '2334' match on receiver and stock. The original blued finish retained is approximately 90% with some edge wear, thinning on the receiver, and the barrel taking on a plum color. Metal displays no deformation, but a small amount of rust was observed at the muzzle, the rear barrel band, and on the butt plate. Furniture wood is in good condition with normal handling wear. Bore is a little frosty with strong rifling, and it may just be dirty (bore swabs were black not rust colored).
