Rock Island Auction Company
Rock Island, Illinois, United States
Welcome to Rock Island Auction Company, the world’s leading auction house for firearms, edged weapons and military artifacts.

We buy Guns...Watch our 3 minute video: www.rockislandauction.com/consignment_process

Rock Island Auction Company has been solely owned and operated by Patrick Hogan since its inception. This company was conceived on the idea that both the sellers and buyers should be completely informed and provided a professional venue for a true auction. After working with two other auction companies, Mr. Hogan began Rock Island Auction Company in 1993. Under Mr. Hogan’s guidance the company has experienced growth each and every year; and he is the first to say it is his staff’s hard work and determination that have yielded such results.

A good reputation and proven results is a true test of any successful auction house. Rock Island Auction Company routinely sells over 60% to 70% of its auction lots to bidders who are absentee - that’s trust! Further, in the last six years Rock Island Auction Company has sold no less than 97% of the lots brought to the auction block.

Here at Rock Island Auction Company, we have two different types of auctions: Premiere and Regional. Our Premiere auctions take place three times a year, each over a three-day period. Each of these auctions is made up of the rare, unusual, mint, and highly collectable pieces. The catalogs for these auctions are full-color, two volume sets consisting of over 600 pages and 6000+ photos. These auctions typically consist of 2700+ lots. These sales will garner on average $7 to $12 million dollars. Our Regional auctions are made up of affordable antiques, beginning collector’s items, usable sporting arms, and many non-firearm lots. The catalogs for these auctions are black and white, 290 pages, and consist of 1200+ lots. These sales will garner on average $2 to $3 million dollars. We have named these “regional” as we encourage the buyer to view the items in person therefore we focus on buyers within a 500 mile driving radius. However these sales have become very popular. Our number of catalogs printed has sky-rocketed therefore our absentee bids have done the same. Both auctions can be viewed on our web-site in full color.

We can be trusted to obtain results ¬just look at our record! Rock Island Auction Company is and has been the #1 firearms auction company in the world in sales for the past 8 years:

2004 = $14.6 million

2005 = $16 million

2006 = $19 million

2007 = $28.6 million

2008 = over $31 million

2009 = $28 million

2010 = $32 million INDUSTRY BREAKING RECORD!

2011 = $32 million

Rock Island Auction Company has conducted numerous firearms auctions since it was established in 1993, however in only eight years our sales total is $201 Million, the highest in the industry. We sell more firearms than any other auction house in the world.

Safari Club International is the Leader in protecting the Freedom to Hunt and in promoting Wildlife Conservation Worldwide !

Protecting hunters' rights and promoting wildlife conservation, SCI's two areas of focus, historically has been the interest of hundreds of individuals long before SCI was established. But how did SCI as an organization begin?
Forty years ago, there were many safari clubs across the country made up of local, unaffiliated groups of hunters. One such was Safari Club of Los Angeles, which was formed in April 1971 by forty-seven individuals. In early 1972, an out-of-towner from a similar club in Chicago attended one of the monthly Wednesday night meetings, and it was decided that the L.A. club should attempt to combine with the one in Chicago to make it an affiliated chapter. The founder of Safari Club of Los Angeles, C.J. McElroy, went to the Windy City and instituted the new chapter.
Eleven months after the formation of Safari Club of Los Angeles, on March 9, 1972, the name was changed officially to Safari Club International. SCI continued to reach out to other independent safari clubs throughout the United States in an effort to combine them into a single overall organization.
Today, interest in SCI's two primary missions has grown a worldwide network. Subsequent involvement and promotion of these missions is rooted in each of our 55,000 members, supported through each of our 190 membership chapters found across the globe, and put into action by government representatives and personnel both nationally and internationally.
In this way, we can encourage an appreciation for nature and wildlife so that conservation efforts remain strong, while also fighting to protect our rich hunting heritage. Big changes can be achieved through the endeavors of many who are united in a mission – the mission of Safari Club International.

Safari Club International - Lehigh Valley Chapter OLD
Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, United States
In 1977, after hearing about a new organization called Safari Club
International, a small group of hunters from Lehigh Valley decided to
form a local chapter. With the leadership and direction of the founding
President, Cook Schiavone, the Lehigh Valley Chapter of Safari Club
International was born. Their main objectives were to support hunter's
rights and show the local community how important hunters are to the
preservation of wild animals.

By 1993 membership had hit in excess of 300 and was still growing.
The Lehigh Valley Chapters' accomplishments were climbing and we
became well known and supported in the surrounding community.

Membership had grown to well over 600 by the end of 2002. We have
partnered with the Pennsylvania Game Commission, as well as with
many other organizations, helping to fund new projects such as
purchasing new hunting properties, helping to make the elk
management and hunting program a reality, feeding the hungry by
supplying much needed harvested meat to many food banks and many
other projects in a list too long to mention here.

We are proud to say the Lehigh Valley Chapter is still growing. If you
are a resident of the Lehigh Valley, and surrounding area, and have a
passion for hunting and the outdoors, why not make a difference in
your community and join us?

Safari Club International - Mid-Michigan Chapter
Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, United States
Conservation of wildlife and protection of the hunter. We find no irony in this because we believe that conservation and hunting are not only compatible, but inseparable.

We believe that habitat and wildlife must be kept in balance, and we believe that wisely managed hunting is one of the best ways to accomplish this. Professional wildlife managers have shown us over and over again that total protection often is not conservation. There simply are too many examples of what happens when species are allowed to exceed levels that space and food supplies can support.

The right to pursue wild game has been handed down to us through the centuries, and we intend to protect this cherished heritage. But when a species is threatened because of habitat loss, political neglect or a natural disaster, Safari Club International steps in with money and effort.

SCI members are proud to be helping preserve wildlife species through our hunting fees and our financial and political support for professional wildlife management. We believe a species is best served when local people realize conserving the species provides them immediate and long term economic rewards.
