The rusa is a very rare species of deer on Mauritius Island dating back to the 17th Century . Current estimates place the Mauritius rusa deer herd population at approximately 40,000 animals. Your host Ivan is a born and raised Mauritian outfitter who has enjoyed hunting and fishing on Mauritius for approximately 50 years. This hunt is available June through November, 2018 with the rutting season starting mid-July and lasting until late August. Transportation during the hunt is mostly by spot & stalk. This package includes the stated trophy fee, 3 days hunting with lunch and beverages included in the field, double occupancy five-star resort accommodations, 1-day unguided sightseeing, a professional hunting guide, use of a scoped rifle/ammunition, hunting license, preliminary preparation for trophy shipping, airport meet & greet and all ground transportation surrounding your guided safari. Not included are other meals and beverages not listed, trophy shipping, taxidermy, personal expenditures and gratuities. Additional hunters, non-hunters and hunting days may be added at current rates.
