5-Day/6-Night Savan River Wilderness Float Fishing Trip for One Angler in Kamchatka, Russia
Kamchatka is the mother of all wilderness fly fishing regions, wildly attractive to those anglers with an extra ounce of adventure in their souls. It is not the most “polished” of locales, nor is it the easiest to get to, but there is no place left in the world that is as pure, as in-tact, or as unexplored. Period.

Here you will enjoy 70 miles of pristine, spring-fed rivers surrounded by scenic rolling mountains and idyllic hot springs while experiencing high-quality fishing on the Savan River's wide, yet shallow channels for abundant varieties of giant rainbow trout and the largest sea-run Dolly Varden char on the Peninsula! Your 5-day fishing adventure begins at Petropavlovsk Airport (a short 4.5 hour flight from Anchorage, Alaska!) where you will be greeted and then transported by Mi8 helicopter to the base camp before flying upstream to start the float with your group (6 anglers max). Each morning, enjoy 2x1 guided excursions of the region's fishing delights, while staff breaks down camp, floats down stream to select the new campsite and readies it for your group's arrival (anglers will need to be available to help erect their own tents). At the end of each day, relax around the campfire, crack open a cold beer and share fishing tales of the day's adventures...except these tales will be true! Meals are delicious and plentiful consisting of fresh made soups, salads, fresh-caught fish and other simple Russian staples such as stroganoff, stew and the traditional Uzbekistani dish called plov. Beer and Vodka can be pre-ordered and provided on the floats, while other or special libations need to be brought from the United States or purchased at Duty Free in Anchorage.

This is the most hard-core trout fishing trip most people will ever sign up for, but there are no objective whitewater hazards. The most uncomfortable situations encountered on these trips is rain, so it is imperative that all your luggage be made of completely waterproof material. This trip includes, lodge/camp accommodations, meals, daily guided fishing (2 anglers per guide), camp equipment (anglers must bring their own sleeping bags and pillows), camp staff, airport reception and ground/helicopter transfers. Not included are transportation to/from Kamchatka, Russia, visitor visa fees, mandatory medical evacuation insurance, optional trip cancellation/interruption insurance, fishing license (approx. $100/week), accommodations before/after trip, fishing gear (available for rent), alcoholic beverages and gratuities. This trip is available in 2016 or 2017 and may be upgraded to include additional days or fishing other regions at current rates based on availability. Additional anglers, as well as observers, are welcome at current rates. Petropavlovsk Airport, Russia is just a short 4.5 hours by air via Anchorage, Alaska making this extraordinary fishing adventure in this remote, vast region easily accessible.
