For the first time ever, Jim Gibsons New Zealand Safaris, with support from the Garig Gunak Barlu National Parks and traditional Aboriginal land owners, is pleased to offer an inclusive 6-day hunt, including a National Park CITES tag, to harvest a wild, mature free-ranging Banteng trophy bull. Situated in the northernmost corner of Australia's top-end, the Park is home to southeast Asian wild cattle where, today, the herd not only is the largest population of Banteng in the world, it is the purist having not crossed with domestic cattle like those outside of the Park. Managed as a food source and for trophy hunting by the Aboriginal people, this tropical adventure will include hunting many different terrains ranging from rain forest jungle and native open forest to fresh water springs and beach front tidal flats. Acting more like deer, Banteng bulls are extremely shy, elusive, fast moving and tend not to stop to take a second look. This hunt is one few hunters will have the opportunity to experience. Method of hunting is traditional spot & stalk with limited roads. Transportation is by 4x4 vehicle to access most areas of this large 872 square mile National Park. Hunt may be upgraded to include water buffalo, boar or the elusive Sambar deer, all while hunting in the National Park. Premier ocean sport fishing for permit fish, Barramundi, GT, coral trout, queen fish and wahoo may also be added at cost. This hunt is available July-August 2020 or 2021. Package includes personal guiding by Jim Gibson, RT transfers between Darwin and hunting camp, accommodations, meals, beverages and transportation during hunting. Not included are dip & pack service, transportation to shipper, firearm permits (or rental at $250), expediting/taxidermy, air charter to remote camp (if upgraded to this option), accommodations before/after the hunt in Darwin and gratuities.
