Alaska: Alaska Department of Fish & Game - Uganik River is home to some of the best Mountain Goat hunting on Kodiak Island, Alaska. The area has a very healthy population of Mountain Goat and has the potential to produce some trophy Billies. Alaska Department of Fish & Game harvest statistics show there was an 83% success rate for hunters who drew this tag in 2018, with eight out of 20 Billies harvested measuring over 9". The winner of this tag will have an excellent chance of harvesting a trophy Mountain Goat. This Special Governor’s Tag Permit is good for one Mountain Goat (either sex), from August 20 – October 25, 2020 for either resident or non-resident hunters. State of Alaska requires all non-resident Mountain Goat hunters to be accompanied in the field by a registered guide or second degree kindred resident relative. Alaska Wild Sheep Foundation is honored to have been chosen to provide this unique opportunity and is dedicating funds raised to the Department management efforts. Thanks ADF&G for making this opportunity available.
