Governor's tag for one hunter to harvest Rocky Mountain elk in Arizona on open dates in August through October, 2017 - includes trophy fee and field prep. Method of take is hunter's choice. This hunt may be upgraded to include bear at $500, mountain lion or cull bull at $7,500/each and management bull. Transportation during the hunt is mostly by vehicle and foot with hunting done by spot & stalk. Winner is responsible for choosing their own hunt guide at cost (a list of available guides can be found on the WMA website) and for all other associated hunt expenses such as field prep, dip & pack service, transportation to shipper, taxidermy, taxes, insurance and lodging/meals (nearby Pinetop, AZ has several nice options). Arrival/departure point is at the concession in Whiteriver, Arizona. Non-hunters can enjoy local culture of the area including the Kinishba Ruins (a pueblo village built between 1250-1400 A.D.) Fort Apache Museum and living history walking tours at the White Mountain Apache Culture Center and Museum.
